The
Atlantic salmon is the king of game fish. Sleek and
silvery, an astonishing leaper paradoxical in his habits
and behavior and electrifying when hooked. Approximately
125 miles north of Goose Bay is the Adlatok River. Fishing
is in gin clear water, where you can look down and see fish
from 6 pounds to 20 pounds PLUS. You can fish from the shore,
which is 5 minutes from camp, by boat, or you may walk the
trail, a 15-minute walk. You can also go by boat or trail
to salt water and get good Sea Trout and Arctic Char. Senior
President George Bush fishes the Adlatok River yearly.
"The jewel of all rivers
I flew to in Labrador was the Adlatok" as quoted in Lee
Wulff's book, The Atlantic Salmon.
